Yesterday, Thursday, February 21, six women — including Oprah Winfrey and Gabrielle Union — were honored at Essence’s 6th annual Black Women in Hollywood Awrads at the Beverly Hills Hotel, according to an article on People.com.

This year’s honorees also included Mara Brock Akil, Naomie Harris, and Quvenhane Wallis.

The luncheone reportedly recognizes the “Power of Presence” by spotlighting the accomplishments of African-American female performers and creators.
