Oprah Winfrey is expanding her efforts to bring justice for Breonna Taylor, the young Black woman who was fatally shot by police who stormed into her home on March 13.
Winfrey’s weekly magazine “O, The Oprah Magazine” announced in a statement Friday it will be erecting 26 billboards in Taylor’s honor across her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. The magazine is also featuring Taylor on the cover of its September issue.
“Each billboard—one for each year of her life—features the cover image with a call to action that reads: ‘Demand that the police involved in killing Breonna Taylor be arrested and charged. Visit UntilFreedom.com,'” the statement reads.
