With the resignation of its current president, a new petition launched by BlackAmericaWeb.com is urging the NAACP to elect a woman for the president position, which would be the first time a female would lead the organization in 104 years, according to an article on NewsOne.com.

Writer Michael H. Cottman, who runs BlackAmericaWeb.com, reportedly feels the NAACP should “evolve and move into the future for the first time with a woman at the helm.”
