On Friday, August 9, 2013, at 6pm, Capsity will be hosting an Open House to celebrate the five-year milestone of being a Sacramento-born business.

Capsity is the home of the SacCulturalHub.com Media Company/The HUB Magazine, which became a tenant in December 2012. “We love it here in Capsity as the owners (Jeff and Jason) are great, offering technical assistance and quality business referrals/resources, and everyone is so open and friendly,” says SacCulturalHub.com CEO and Founder Pleshette Robertson. “It’s so like the Silicon Valley Hub in the Capsity setting/environment. We meet someone new all the time making excellent contacts and networking.”

In March 2012, Capsity partners with a Los Angeles based web development firm to purchase the 4,500 square-foot property at 2572 21st St. Capsity pursued ownership in its current location rather than the usual route of signing a lease. Jeff Louie, founder and co-owner says, “The ownership model encourages a much more stable entrepreneurial environment for long term growth of small businesses and the local economy.”

Janet Smith of Lucky Buddy Petcare says, “February we moved into Capsity and have never looked back. We enjoy having our home and privacy back, the increased networking opportunities, and the chance to work around positive entrepreneurs in our community.”

This past July, Capsity hosted workshops that brought two industry giants to Sacramento: Facebook Small Business Workshop and Google+ SAC30 event. The Facebook Workshop coordinated with Assemblymember Roger Dickinson’s office gathered more than 70 people while the Google+ SAC30 event brought together 30 creative thinkers for a problem-solving intensive.

Marking Capsity’s evolution as a leader in the local business community, Louie was voted onto the Benefit Corporation Standards Institute (BCSI) board of directors in March. This month, Capsity will file as Sacramento’s first Benefit Corporation guided by BCSI standards. Additional expansion discussions have begun in Roseville and Elk Grove, and a new joint venture with Capital Indie Collective, known as Capsity Indie, will explore live/work options in the region for local artists and creatives.

The Capsity 5-Year Anniversary and Open House will take place Friday, August 9 from 6-8pm at 2572 21st Street in Sacramento. The free event will feature light refreshments.
