Kristen Bell opened the evening by poking fun at Melania Trump, Morgan Freeman was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Rosanna Arquette got emotional in thanking several women in Hollywood for raising awareness of sexual harassment and abuse.
 
When Morgan Freeman took the stage to receive his Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Rita Moreno, he told the audience that the award was for them. “This is beyond an honor, this is a place in history,” Freeman said, beaming with thanks.  
 
He closed his speech declaring that the SAG Award trophies only “work from the back” since the front is “gender specific,” evoking a loud cheer from those in the audience.
 
“Maybe I started something,” Freeman said with a smirk as he left the stage, followed by an overwhelming applause.
