Serena Williams believes all mothers deserve a happy and healthy childbirth experience.
Williams posted a video of her 4-month-old daughter to Facebook Monday, writing about the feelings of surprise and thanks she felt after an unexpected number of women told their scary birthing stories in response to her own.
“I didn’t expect that sharing our family’s story of Olympia’s birth and all of (the) complications after giving birth would start such an outpouring of discussion from women – especially black women – who have faced similar complications and women whose problems go unaddressed,” the 36-year-old tennis superstar wrote.
