Sheila C. Johnson is one of four women to be honored at this year’ Women’s Media Awards in New York City on October 8.

Johnson is a founding partner of Black Entertainment Television, and CEO of Salamander Hotels and Resorts.

She was an excutive producer on “The Butler” and has executive produced four documentary films, including “Kicking It” and “A Powerful Noise.”

And she is also reportedly the only African-American woman to have ownership in three professional sports teams — NBA Washington Wizards, NHL Washington Capitals and WNBA Washington Mystics. She is also president and managing partner of the Washington Mystics.
