After hearing that a Lawrenceville, GA soccer team had been robbed of the funds it had raised, Tyler Perry decided to help out and wrote the team a check for $5,000, according to an article on the website of the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
According to the article, Perry — who is based in Atlanta — was “moved” after hearing the story of how the soccer team coach’s car had been broken into following a fundraising event and more than $2,400 in cash had been stolen.
