Uzo Aduba has her crazy eyes on a new stage show.
The Emmy-winning actress of Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black is set to star in a musical workshop production of The Secret Life of Bees. The show will be performed throughout the July 27 weekend, as part of Vassar and New York Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Directed by Tony winner Sam Gold (Fun Home, Othello), the new musical adaptation features a book by Lynn Nottage, who just won a Pulitzer Prize for her Broadway play Sweat. It also has music by Tony winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and lyrics by Tony nominee Susan Birkenhead (Ain’t Misbehavin’).
