Roberts Family Development Center is seeking entries for their 8th Annual Cereal Sculpture Contest at their Suit & Slippers event scheduled for July 11, 2013, at the Market Square Lobby at Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento.

The contest is open to all Sacramento artists, professional and amateur. Submissions will be evaluated by RFDC management and a community arts panel. After 10 finalist selections have been chosen and sculptures created, the sculptures will be displayed during the 8th Annual Suits & Slippers event from 7:30am-9am on July 11 for judge voting.

The winning artist will be awarded a $250 gift card to the Arden Fair Mall. Second place will win a $150 gift card, and third place will receive a $75 gift card.

Sculptures must be made from General Mills cereal and artists may use glue, string and other adhesive materials in their creation, as well as paint. In honor of RFDC’s Summer Camp, the theme for his year’s sculpture pieces should reflect “Summer Fun, Throughout the Eyes of a Child.”

All entries must be received by 5pm Friday, July 4, 2013.
