It’s official: The Lion King stage musical has grossed more than any other work in the entertainment industry. The show’s worldwide gross is over $6.2 billion, reports the Associated Press.

The box office record was previously held by Phantom of the Opera with $6 billion in global sales. Just FYI, the highest-grossing movie ever is Avatar with $2.8 billion.
