The U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Treasury just released news this week sharing guidance on the new Payroll Protection Program (PPP) created by the recent stimulus package to help small businesses impacted by COVID-19 maintain payroll and cover costs associated with rent, utilities, and other overhead payments. These loans can be forgiven if borrowers maintain their payroll or restore it once the crisis ends.

SBA has announced that small businesses with employees and sole proprietors may start applying for these loans as soon as this Friday, April 3. Self-employed individuals and independent contracts may start applying on April 10.
