Cosmetologist and stylist, James Gilbert also known as BrandNewJames has relocated salons from Pasadena to Neihule’s 2nd location – a premiere luxury salon in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles located at 305 East 8th Street (with its 1st location at: 607 South Olive Street). Neihule Salon opened its doors in 2008 and has become the go-to salon for all your beauty needs. Neihule offers an array of services from hair, nails, waxing.
For the last 5 years James has worked at Salon Sessions in Pasadena where he has had some amazing opportunities working with celebrity stylist Neeko – owner of Salon Sessions. Just recently James was the assistant stylist on set with Bob Recine (one of the best hairdressers in the world) styling celebrity families in “Families That Rock” in the Fall/September 2018 issue of Bazaar Magazine. Bazaar family icons included: Kanye West, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen.
James has a history of teaching with twice (in May 2017 and May 2018) going to Jamaica to train youth in the hair and barbering industries under the Trade Works Foundation. Other coloring and cutting classes James has presented as an instructor include: McBride Hair World in Paris (September 2018), Bronner Brothers Atlanta Hair Show (August 2018), Doris Mosley SIBE-Spectrum International Beauty Expo (March 2018), International Salon & Spa Expo in Long Beach (January 2018).
James is looking forward to serving his current clientele and welcomes children, men, and women as new clients and will be offering a variety of personalized salon services at Neihule Salon while specializing in: balayage, highlights, haircuts for men and women, relaxers, brazilian blow outs, texturizers, and bleach outs.
