Sacramento, Calif. – The 34th annual Sacramento International Sportsmen’s Expo – California’s largest sportsmen and outdoor exposition dedicated to fishing, hunting and outdoor enthusiasts in the region – drew more than 35,000 attendees to Cal Expo between January 16-19, generating an estimated $1.47 million in sales and bed taxes from hotel stays and food, beverage, boat, ATV, booth and ticket sales. The event concluded on Sunday, January 19 with exciting shows and product demonstrations from exhibitors around the world. “Cal Expo has a proud history of supporting the greater Sacramento area and the regional economy,” said Rick Pickering, Chief Executive Officer of Cal Expo. “With the convention center still under renovation, we’ve been more than happy to provide businesses and organizations with a tremendous space to host major events.” Cal Expo has hosted this successful event for all 34 years. Over 625 companies, including those that traveled from Southern Oregon, Western Nevada, and throughout Northern California, took advantage of Cal Expo’s centrally located and easily accessible facilities to provide engaging exhibits for attendees. The Sportsmen’s Expo also featured a designated area for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to sell discounted licenses and answer questions. The Expo also included a Youth Fair filled with free activities for young sportsmen and women. Beyond the 625+ company exhibits, attendees also enjoyed a variety of outdoor games, demos, and contests throughout the four-day expo. “We’re excited about the upcoming Northern California Home and Landscape Expo being held this weekend at Cal Expo, as well as other fantastic events happening between now and the California State Fair, July 17 – August 2,” added Pickering.
