Two months after its US launch, the eco-savvy European tech + travel startup proves it has the stamina for the States with most recent expansion

After connecting communities in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona, FlixBus has its wheels turned toward the Bay Area. Starting today, the company is offering a plethora of new connections along the West Coast, including Sacramento, San Francisco, Bakersfield, Oakland, San Jose and Reno, bringing the total number of US destinations to 40.

“The launch of FlixBus in May passed all our expectations. People want more of our green buses, so we’re adding them as quickly as can be,” said Pierre Gourdain, Managing Director of FlixBus USA. “We’re making bus travel a thing again by providing everyone with a safe, sustainable and cheap option. This new launch will represent a massive shift in how people travel up and down the West Coast.”

Destinations launching today include: Bakersfield, Commerce, Fremont, Fresno, Gilroy, Kettleman City, Millbrae, Oakland, Reno, Richmond, Sacramento, Salinas, Tempe, San Francisco, San Jose and Universal City.

Founded in Germany in 2013, FlixBus expanded into 27 countries throughout Europe before heading across the pond for its US debut on May 31. FlixBus manages the technology, ticketing, customer service, network planning, marketing and sales of their product while local SME partners manage the daily operations of the iconic green fleet. New bus partners include: Alvand Transportation, Amador Stage Lines, Classic Charter, LD Tours and Tourcoach, joining our inaugural partners including Transportation Charter Services (TCS), Arrow Stage Lines, American Explorer Motorcoach, Gray Line Arizona, Pacific Coachways and USA Coach Services.

Prices for routes from Sacramento to San Francisco will run as low as $4.99; longer routes such as Sacramento to Los Angeles sell from $14.99, with other connections in the network boasting prices as low as $0.99.
