As I address my note of condolence to Yardley Griffin and family members I extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family in the passing of your dad–Bishop Yardley Wendell Griffin, Sr.  When I first moved from the Bay Area to Sacramento in 2001, I wondered who and where would be my church home.  Although we eventually settled into Genesis Baptist Church in South Sacramento, the Griffin family at Destiny Church in South Sacramento also embraced our large family with so much love.  Bishop Griffin – a gregarious man who was open, kind, and sincere in his welcome and care of people.  I can remember my oldest daughter participating in a fashion show at Destiny Church and later taking a group trip with the Griffin family to New York – I knew my daughter was safe and in good hands with the Griffin family.  Sending big hugs to Yardley Griffin and all of the Griffin family members – Bishop Griffin may not be here with us physically but you have gained a Champion Angel who will reside with you forever as he takes his place in heaven.   I am truly honored and blessed to have known Bishop Griffin and his family. He was a faithful servant and a blessing to the community. Bishop Griffin will truly be missed.

Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed Bishop Griffin. May our Lord bless and comfort the Griffin family during this time of grief. My sincerest condolences.
