The International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute (IBWPPI) supports and celebrates the recent appointment of Susan Elizabeth Rice as United States Ambassador for the United Nations by President Barack Obama.

Rice will reportedly replace the departing Tom Donilon in this position.

Rice graduates Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, participates in the Rhodes Scholar program, and achieved a master’s degree and PhD in international relations from Oxford University. Ambassador Rice served in senior national security positions in both public and private employment settings focused on the safety and well-being of Americans.

Most notable national security experiences with the US Mission to the UN, the State Department and the National Security Council, Assistant Secretary of State and as a member of President Clinton and Obama’s White House Cabinet.
