LOCAL WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS HONORED AT UPCOMING CEREMONY

SACRAMENTO, CA. The Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is pleased to announce its 26th Annual Outstanding Women Leaders (OWL) Awards Gala. The event will be held at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC), Sacramento’s newest landmark and science center on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Returning emcee and KFBK news anchor Kitty O’Neal is back for her 26th time as host. This year’s theme is “A Night at the OSCARS.”
The OWL Gala is NAWBO Sacramento Valley Chapter’s signature event and has become an annual tradition in and around the region. The event honors the top achievers and leaders among women entrepreneurs, along with corporate, government and community leaders who have advanced the status of women in our region. 

OWL Categories and Finalists:
Achievement Against All Odds Award: A woman who achieves success despite unfavorable circumstances. Finalists: Alice Ruth Bolton, Mighty Aim High LLC; Amanda Kay Lipp, Lipp & Associates; Antronette Robinson, Maestro Coffee; Lisa Wrightsman, Street Soccer USA; Lucy Garcia Robles, Notarize Me Inc.; Martha Guerrero, Mayor, City of West Sacramento; Rachel Michelin, California Retailers Association; Sarah Swanson, Eyes on J Optometry; Shayne Corriea-Fernandez, Corriea Financial Group; and Tamaira Sandifer, Studio T Arts and Entertainment.

Executive Woman Award: A senior level corporate woman leading the way for others. Finalists: Ariel Roblin, KCRA/Hearst Television; Bindu Jaduram, Tri Counties Bank; Jane Einhorn, JE Communications; and Lydia Ramirez, Five Star Bank.

Vision Award: A woman who leads an organization whose vision provides meaningful opportunities for women. Finalists: Amanda Blackwood, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce; Cheryl Beninga, FourthWave and Wai-Mohala Ventures; Daisy Gonzales, California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office; Kim Tucker, Impact Foundry; Monique Brown, Growth Factory; Sa Ton, Nature Love Salon; and Sophia Kanaan, California Capital Women’s Business Center.

Wise Woman Award: Also known as the “Business Woman of the Year Award,” is for a woman who exemplifies all aspects of success as a woman business owner. Finalists: Alex Wicks, Bizhaven; Janine Yancey, Emtrain; Jenine S. Jenkins, J. Smith and Co., LLC; Lucy Garcia Robles, Notarize Me Inc.; and Tina Reynolds, Uptown Studios, Inc.

Woman Innovator Award: A successful woman business owner in a non-traditional or exceptionally innovative business. Finalists: Ishita M. Shah, Matrubials Inc.; Jaclyn Powell, Smith, McDowell & Powell, A Law Corporation; Lashanna, “Ingraham” by the Fashion Welder; Laura L. Good, StartupSac; Melissa Sanchez, Harvest Law; and Tara Taylor, Single Mom Strong.

Woman on the Way Award: An up-and-coming woman business owner who has less than five years in business. Finalists: Anna Straus, Sparck; Nicole Townsend, Experience Counts, LLC; and Reneta Jenik, Foodom.
