Mayor Darrell Steinberg’s long-term plan to turn Old Sacramento’s Waterfront into a tourist attraction is finally coming into fruition following the city council’s unanimous vote Tuesday to fund up to $47 million to renovate the area.
The Old Sacramento renovation consists of three projects that would transform the historically significant but underperforming area into a promenade with views of the Sacramento river.
