Local Coach Represents Sacramento Community with Jr. NBA Coach of the Year Nomination
 
Sacramento, Calif. –the Sacramento Kings are excited to share that today, the Jr. NBA announced eight semi-finalists for the annual 2016-17 Jr. Coach of the Year Awards. Dwight Taylor, local youth basketball coach at Albert Einstein Middle School was nominated and selected as one of the nominees. The National Coach of the Year will be announced and awarded on Monday, June 26 during the NBA Awards Show.
 
The Jr. NBA is dedicated to sharing the game of basketball with youth across the world by teaching skills, values and wellness in a positive and fun environment. This approach is intended to strengthen the culture of youth basketball, teach life lessons and empower youth to live a full and healthy life.
 
The Jr. NBA Coach of the Year Award is given to a youth basketball coach in an NBA team market who is making a positive impact on children by demonstrating outstanding integrity, character and leadership.
 
“We’re excited for Dwight to represent Albert Einstein Middle School, the Kings and the Sacramento Community on a national platform as a Jr. NBA Coach of the Year nominee,” said Executive Director of the Kings Foundation Scott Moak. “Youth athletic coaches are true all-stars, dedicating their energy, time, and resources to making positive impacts in the lives of their athletes.
 
Beginning at12 p.m. ESTonMonday, May 8, voting is open and fans are encouraged to cast their vote for their favorite coach via Twitter by using the hashtag#JrNBACOY, along with the representative NBA team abbreviation(i.e. #JrNBASAC).Fan voting ends at11:59 p.m. ESTonMonday, May 22.
 
The Jr. NBA will announce the top three finalists onMonday, June 5. The 2016-17 National Coach of the Year will be announced and recognized at the NBA Awards Show onMonday, June 26.
