Sacramento County Fair Announces the 1st Annual Poster Contest

Sacramento, CA – November 8 2011- “The Sacramento Country Fair is all about our community becoming more involved in the Fair,” stated Fair Board President Jim Vietheer. “The Sacramento County Fair belongs to the community and we want everyone’s input and participation.” The Sacramento County Fair Board has announced the 1st Annual Sacramento County Fair Poster Contest and would like to invite and encourage all Sacramento County residents to submit their original design for the chance to have their artwork selected as the official poster for the 2012 Sacramento County Fair.  The winning artist will receive $250.00 and recognition during the 2012 Fair.

Entry Qualifications:

·Be a resident of Sacramento County
·Become a fan on Facebook by clicking “like” on the “Sacramento County Fair” Facebook page
·Read and sign the entry & media form (with parental consent if under 18 as of January 1, 2012)
·Read Rules and Regulations for the 2012 Poster Contest
·Designs must incorporate the 2012 Fair date, May 24-28, 2012, and theme “Let’s Eat, Have Fun & Celebrate the Red, White, and Blue!”
·Posters must be submitted in TWO formats: digitally (by email), and the original hard copy artwork mailed to the Fair office.
·Entries opened Monday, November 1, 2011, and will close (must be postmarked by) Friday, January  6, 2012

Entries will initially be judged in age divided categories. In addition to the cash prize, winners will receive carnival and Fair passes, the opportunity to work with a professional graphics designer, and individual recognition at the Fair. Over 60,000 guests will enjoy the Sacramento County Fair May 24-28, 2012 on the grounds of Cal Expo.  Close to 10,000 school children enjoy free educational school tours.  Over 5,000 local residents compete for awards in the livestock and competitive exhibit programs.  Kids under 12 enjoy free admission every day at the Fair.  This year’s theme is Let’s Eat, Have Fun & Celebrate the Red, White & Blue.
