Dear Community Leaders:

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the National Junior Honor Society at Harriet Eddy Middle school have teamed up to support at-risk-youth.  The student led effort is designed to collect and donate thousands of pants to homeless youth. A great deal of support is still needed from individuals and California leaders.  Coordination with your office and in the community will certainly go a long way toward making this community project a success.  Please consider to support by donating any size or color pant for youth age 18 and under.

Pants may be delivered directly to the school office between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM from Thursday,
January 2 through Friday, February 7, 2014. The following is the school site drop off location:

Harriet Eddy Middle School
9329 Soaring Oaks Drive
Elk Grove, CA  95758
(916) 683-1302

Currently, one in three homeless people in the United States is under the age of 18.   Since 2007, the campaign has collected over 2.5 million pairs of jeans for homeless teens.  DoSomething.org, Aéropostale and P.S. from Aéropostale will donate the clothing to more than 1,000 homeless shelters across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.  In February 2013, the student led effort at Harriet Eddy Middle school was recognized as the second highest contributing location in the United States and Canada.  Students need additional help from California leaders to collect 50,000 pants in 2014.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. For additional assistance coordinating a drop off, please call Sandi Peterson at (916) 683-1302 or you may call Albert Rivas at (916) 324-6508. For additional information, download our PDF flyer.
