The Most Vulnerable Kids: What 5-to-11-Year Olds Need to Recover From the Covid-19 Pandemic

Ethnic Media Services in partnership with the California Department of Public Health’s “Week of Action” (March 14-18) held a news briefing on Wednesday morning (3/16/2022) that was conducted in English and simulcasted in Spanish, Mandarin and Korean. California pediatricians and experts discussed the following:

  • The current rate of 5-11 year-old vaccinations
  • Parental hesitancy to vaccinate younger children
  • The need for children to be vaccinated, despite new data suggesting the inefficacy of the vaccine against Omicron for youth
  • The mental health impacts of the pandemic on children
