WERE YOU THERE! “Women’s Empowerment: Vision to Success Networking Conference” was presented by visionary, Dominique Poydras owner of Sisters Inspiring Sisters (supporting women entrepreneurs) on Saturday, January 21st at Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Sacramento. The attendees shopped with unique vendors and received so many golden nuggets in entrepreneurship that included a goal-planning interactive session.

Keynote Speaker Venetia James – Founder of Hundreds Unit shared a profound testimony on her journey as an entrepreneur in multiple businesses while perfecting her craft as a professional dance choreographer and licensed cosmetologist along with being so transparent with us.

Some key points expressed and discussed at the networking conference included:

  • Work on yourself first – empowering your business starts with empowering you first
  • Life lessons will take you forward!
  • Must have discernment; listen because not listening has a high cost
  • Walking in your passion; passion is essential and will keep you motivated when it gets hard
  • Sisterhood is the magic that happens in this space
  • Not giving up at the first signs of opposition
  • Trusting the vision
  • Less is more
  • The 5 people you are around the most in your circle have the most influence on you

Founder of Sisters Inspiring Sisters, Dominque Poydras stated: “Vision to Success Day was an inspirational, motivational, impactful day! The goal was to come together to create a vision and put action behind it. To think deep about anything that could possibly get in your way and how to navigate through life barriers while continuously pushing through your goals. We were able to share space with Venetia James and talk about walking in your purpose, challenges, people issues, and staying committed. Walking into and through success starts with your vision and ends with your vision. The journey in between will be filled with ups, downs, joy, and tears. Losing friends, making new ones, fear, and successes and failures. Trust yourself and trust the process. This is my year of connection. I am best when I am able to create and share my gifts with all of you. Thank you to each and everyone of you who decided that your day would be spent with Sisters Inspiring Sisters. I don’t take your time and trust in our space for granted. Til’ we meet again….Believe in yourself! Don’t give up! Complete your goals like your life depends on it!!”

What I loved most about this event and Sisters Inspiring Sisters is how whenever there was a lot of noise in the room because of how us women love to talk and laugh, the organizers (CEO – Dominique Poydras, CFO – Ingrid Pinkett, and COO – Christy Atherton DeMarie) of the event would speak out in a loud voice but friendly tone: “HEY SIS” to get everyone’s attention and back on track with our sessions throughout the afternoon.
