Kindergarten through third graders are invited to write and illustrate original storybooks and enter them into KVIE Public Television’s annual Writers Contest, according to a press release issued by KVIE. Children writing and illustrating their original story can enter for a chance to win prizes at both the local and national levels.
Contest rules, Entry Forms, and a Writing Guide for the contest are available online at kviekids.org.
Each child that enters will reportedly receive a special Certificate of Achievement. Local winners will receive additional prizes at a special recognition ceremony, and their stories will be posted online at kviekids.org. And local first place winners will advance to the national competition – national prizes are awarded to three winning stories in each grade and national winners are featured on pbskids.org.
