The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has released information for African-Americans on how to help prevent colorectal cancer, or cancer of the colon or rectum.

According to the NCI, both African-American men and women are more likely than people of any other racial/ethnic group in the United States to develop colorectal cancer, and also to die from it. The NCI says nearly 17,000 African-Americans will develop colorectal cancer this year, and only prostate, breast and lung cancer kill more African-Americans.
