The Greater Sacramento Valley Arthritis Walk 2012 will take place this Saturday, May 5 at the West Steps of the State Capitol. The event is a celebration of a year-round movement to help prevent and treat arthritis and raises money for the Arthritis Foundation.
According to the Arthritis Foundation, arthritis is the number one cause of disability in the United States, with one in five people have some form of the condition. In California alone there are over 5.9 million people living with arthritis, including over 38,000 children under the age of 17.
