BlacKkKlansman has arrived with a power statement.

Spike Lee's incredible true story of an heroic cop infiltrating the Ku Klux Klan premiered to a thunderous standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival on Monday, the same day the movie released its powerful first trailer.

USA TODAY's Andrea Mandell was in Cannes to witness BlacKkKlansman and the audience reception as the lights came up.
