I had been driving past Rosie’s Country Kitchen in Rancho Cordova almost every day, to and from the gym, and finally decided to check it out last weekend.

That was both a brilliant and horrible decision. Since then, it’s been hard to resist stopping every day to replenish those elliptically-stripped away calories!

Rosie’s Country Kitchen is family owned and operated, and we were warmly welcomed and felt right at home. I really wanted to try the grits, but I’m picky about mine, so I decided to try the lingua omelette.  It was packed with meat and fresh veggies, served with toast and potatoes, and exceptional.  The coffee was ok…but I’m picky about my coffee, too!    The portions were huge, and I don’t want to say this too loudly, but the prices were shockingly reasonable

In addition to full American-ish breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, Rosie’s Country Kitchen offers multiple Indian options.   If you opt for dinner, make it an early one as Rosie’s closes at 7pm most days.

It’s been a long week, so I think I’m going to treat myself to some pancakes at Rosie’s this weekend — after my workout!  And one day soon, I’ll work up the nerve to sample those grits.

Rosie’s Country Kitchen is located at 10273 Folsom Avenue in Rancho Cordova.  Their number is 916-361-1647
