WalMart GrantHelp fight hunger in your community! Sacramento is in 7th place to win a Walmart grant of $100k. Click "LIKE" to support the Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville, CA area so that we can move up in the race to win $1 million dollars.  The community with the most support will receive $1 million to fight hunger from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation. Sacramento Press and photography Kati Garner captured the essence of the Kwanzaa Family Festival where over 2,000 people celebrated at the Crocker Art Museum on Sun-12/26, the first day of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa, honored worldwide, focuses on family, community, creativity, and the cultural traditions found in the African diaspora.  The Crocker celebrated its new collection of African art with music and dance performances by Umoja, Afia Walking Tree and Spirit Drumz, PROJECT, Phoenix Park Multicultural Kids Choir.  There was storytelling by Culture Co-op and a special puppet production, “Hamissi the Brave.”   >>read more




NAACP JusticeNAACP reports Justice At Last for the Scott Sisters. Gladys and Jamie Scott are returning home for the first time in 16 years.  This evening (12/29/10), Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour suspended their sentences -- handed down in the extreme and biased ruling of Judge Marcus Gordon that condemned each of the women to double life sentences for an $11 robbery. > >read more

Please pray for their entire family. They are also in need of assistance for expenses of the funeral services.
