NOVEMBER 29: "The Show" poetry series is every last Saturday of the month from 7-9 pm. THE SHOW with live band LSB is not just a poetry series, it's an artistic experience and Northern California's BIGGEST poetry event! On Sat-11/29 The Show will feature poets Phoenyx Reign from Washington D.C., Daniel Blake, SOL, E-Legal Tagteam, 15 year old Charrelle Mabry, plus gospel hip-hop artist Izreal + band. Enjoy free coffee, water and sweet rolls. Taking place at Wo'se Community Center 2863 35th Street off 35th and Broadway in Oak Park, Sacramento. "Mountains Beyond Mountains" by Tracy KidderDECEMBER 1: Don't miss the author's visit, Tracy Kidder of "Mountains Beyond Mountains" taking place on Mon-12/1 at the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at The book which tells the story of Boston physician Paul Farmer as "a man who could cure the world." Kidder's book documents Farmer's Robin Hood-like fight against tuberculosis and the AIDS-causing human immunodeficiency virus in impoverished Haiti. Panel discussion from 4–5 pm on No Boundaries - Globalizing Health Care from Haiti to California and Beyond. From 8 pm to 9:30 pm the Author’s Talk: The Problem With Goodness: The Story of Paul Farmer At 9:30 pm is the book signing by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Tracy Kidder. >>more



DECEMBER 6: During each of the past five Christmas seasons, Tracy African AmericanBlack Nativity Production in Tracy, California Association, Inc. (TAAA) has hosted the stellar play Black Nativity, written by celebrated African American poet, novelist, and playwright Langston Hughes.  On Sat-12/6 at 4:30 pm TAAA will host the Allen Temple Baptist Church Cantateers' final performance of Black Nativity at Tracy, California's magnificently refurbished Grand Theatre Center for the Arts, 715 Central Ave in Tracy, California.  $20/person.  Visit www.taaa.net for more info or call (209) 601-6311.
