Taking place Friday, May 3, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at UC Davis School of Medicine in the Education Building, 4610 X Street in Sacramento, California. This year’s theme will focus on: “Implicit Bias Awareness: Where Do We Go From Here”. We are pleased to present our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Leon McDougle, Chief Diversity Officer Professor of Family Medicine at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with special guest Chancellor Gary May of UC Davis.

Encouraging African American physicians, nurses, health administrators/educatiors, public policy professionals, medical students and community members to attend. The purpose of the Forum is to connect African American physicians, clinicians, medical students, and health administrators with colleagues throughout Northern California to discuss physician leadership and collaborative roles in chronic disease education, prevention, and healthcare access. Physician leadership will encourage the African American/Urban community to make informed behavioral choices that improve long term health and well-being. The BPF platform includes a welcome reception, networking mixer, keynote presentation, discussion groups, and panel of physician presenters who educate colleagues on current development in chronic diseases that plague African American communities, best practices in treatment, presentation of medical student scholarships, and highlight non traditional community service projects.
