Things to do, Places to go, People to meet in Sacramento & Beyond
Issue October 30, 2009
FOUNDER’S MESSAGE
Hey there Hub Fans … I have some really hot news about what’s happening in the “ARTS” arena of Sacramento. A little birdie shared some VIP info with me that I had not known about and turns out some folks have known about it for the last 2-4 months. Anywho, I know now so I’m spreading this news to those of us who are the last to know and to perhaps to those of us who forget to pay attention.“Mayor Kevin Johnson launched Sacramento’s For Art’s Sake initiative in June 2009. The goal is to create a collective vision and direction for arts in Sacramento. He challenged citizens to be bold, work collaboratively and reinvent the way the arts are defined and supported in the community.” The next monthly meeting to take place is on Wed-12/9 at the Sojourner Truth Museum in South Sacramento. So please if you care about supporting and being involved in changes taking place surrounding the Arts of Sacramento, show up to listen, ask questions, and network so that you stay in the loop. Last week I went to the October meeting at Hot Italian and learned so much NEED-TO-KNOW information. We need ALL African Americans to show up on Wed-12/9 at Sojourner Truth Museum (916-271-8855) to support the “ARTS”. They say we don’t count because we don’t show up, but YOU need to make a difference and make your presence known as well as voice your concerns and opinions! Just so you know we are not just about the parties on Sac Hub – we wholeheartedly are educating you and keeping you abreasted of the things taking place right under your nose that you should know and care about especially when it effects the lifestyle of our families. Check out how Sacculturalhub.com is planning to expand your territories with our 2010 Arts Initiatve. >>read more
