Honoring James Shelby

On Thursday, October 15, 2009, the community will unite in a celebration of appreciation and style to honor Sacramento’s newest retiree, the Honorable James C. Shelby. Mr. Shelby’s extensive record as one of the region’s most prominent civic leaders, including 16 years as President & CEO of the Greater Sacramento Urban League, warrants a community-wide tribute worthy of such an outstanding career.

The event will feature tributes from community leaders and video slideshows in recognition of Mr. Shelby. Local celebrity male models will show-off Macy’s latest fall fashions for men, from which Mr. Shelby’s next “career look” will be chosen by the audience.

Macy’s will also present a 2010 Spring Fashion Forecast for Men, and L’Oreal will provide stylish gift bags to all attendees. Generously provided by Macy’s West, the venue and men’s fashion show are sure to be highlights of the evening. Refreshments will be served and the community is invited to attend this special event:
