50th Anniversary Celebration in honor of Reverend 
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Visit to Sacramento State University featuring Keynote Speaker, Tavis Smiley. This special event is taking place on Mon-10/16 at Sacramento State University and brings together the campus and surrounding community to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King and his many contributions to the world. In celebration of his speech to the campus some 50 years ago entitled, “The Civil Rights Movement of the Future,” this historic date will mark the 50th anniversary of his speech on campus to some 7,000 people back in 1967. Tavis Smiley will present on “Empathy and Economic Inequality” from 12:00-12:45 pm in the University Union Ballroom. This is a FREE event but you must RSVP online – CLICK HERE to register online now.
