The Program requires two surveys to assess knowledge about heart disease and its risk factors, blood pressure and weight screenings, and two fasting blood tests at the beginning and end of eight to ten educational sessions.

For the past 5 years the primary mission of the National Trends and Services Facet has been to improve heart healthy lifestyles and to reduce risk of heart disease especially among African-American women.

Our attention to heart health, health disparities and other high-risk diseases evolved from our 2006-2008 successful study, Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Program in partnership with U. C.
