Remembering EWOC 2014 Special Guest Speaker – Ms. Hydeia Broadbent – prominent HIV/AIDS activist, dies at 39
After reading the post yesterday (2/21/2024) from one of our Sac Hub Team members, Kim Bailey, I was crushed with sadness to hear the news that Ms. Hydeia Broadbent had passed away. She was a special guest speaker at the 2014 Exceptional Women of Color (EWOC) Conference making a huge impact with inspiring our attendees.
Words cannot adequately express the depth of our sorrow as we come to terms with the loss of such a remarkable individual at the young age of 39. Hydeia was a soft spoken true beacon of hope, resilience, and advocacy in our nation. Hydiea’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of courage, compassion, and tireless dedication to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS will continue to inspire us all.
Sac Cultural Hub Media Company/Foundation extends heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved Ms. Hydeia Broadbent. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared with her and in the knowledge that her impact on the world will never be forgotten.
In remembrance of Hydiea, let us reaffirm our commitment to continuing her important work and honoring her memory in all that we do.
With deepest sympathy,
Pleshette Robertson, Founder
