What is SRCSD and the proposed regulations to increase fees?

Did you READ the letter in the mail from SRCSD-Sacramento Regional County Santitation District regarding proposed regulations that would increase watewater treatment rates and fees?  Monthly customer rates could increase from $20 per month for waistwater treatment to $60 per month (OMG!!!).  A State agency known as the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Water Board) will soon decide wheter to impose new, very restrictive conditions for the region's wastewater discharge.  Such a mandate would require SRCSD to install very expensive additional wastewater treatment processes that will cost approximately $2 billion.  This means a homeowner's monthly wastewater treatment rate could increase from $20 per month to more than  $60 per month.  There is an upcoming public hearing to be determined (on either 12/8, 12/9 or 12/10) in Rancho Cordova and members of the public can attend and provide comment at the Water Board's public hearing.  To learn more about this issue, visit www.sacdeltasolutions.com.
