Join us for the 6th Annual Sacramento Black Book Fair May 31-June 1

6th Annual Sacramento Black Book Fair (SBBF) taking place on Fri-5/31 and Sat-6/1 at the historic center of Oak Park with headquarters for check-in at Women’s Civic Improvement Club, 3555 3rd Ave in Sacramento.  FREE for the entire family to attend – share this info with your friends and family.

Activities and entertainment will include book signings, talks by each featured writer, cultural vendors, workshop session, a fun kids zone, a community parade, poetry readings, writers’ chat rooms; writers’ circles, and art displays. SBBF will feature more than fifty authors of African descent, showcasing and highlighting a diverse spectrum of authors and literature, from contemporary and historical fiction, to anthologies, poetry, academic books; children’s stories and books, non-fiction to biographies, self-help, and inspirational, and religious.

Several venues near 35th & Broadway in Oak Park that will host activities listed above include:

Opening activities on Fri-5/31 will include: 

7 PM, Guild Theater, Opening Panel Discussion led by the featured authors. Free and open to the public. Must RSVP to: faye@bluenilepress.com.

9 PM, Post panel Discussion Mixer at the Brickhouse Art Gallery in historic Oak Park

On Sat-6/1, the day begins with:

Carol Borden’s Books On Parade at 10 am  and Kid’s Zone will take place from 11 am to 5:30 pm at the Brickhouse  Art Gallery.
