Well-known local blues musician Gary Mendoza will headline a free foot-stomping community blues concert in Elk Grove on Saturday, April 27.
The “Musical History of Blues” performance, hosted by the Elk Grove Committee for the Arts, will feature the Gary Mendoza Band and Elk Grove student musicians. The two-hour concert will follow the history of blues in America, including back porch, Delta, and Chicago styles that have rocked juke joints and cabarets of the past.
The free concert, open to all ages, will be held at the Sheldon High School Performing Arts Center, 8333 Kingsbridge Drive, in Elk Grove. The concert begins at 7pm and seating is limited.
