Sacramento, CA – The following statement is from Sistah Past Roundtree Rivers, co-pastor of For His Glory Church.  “We are deeply saddened by the senseless killing of Jaulon Calvo and shooting of Malik Johnson as they drove to their football game at Grant High School yesterday.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and our community during this difficult time.  This incident has impacted faith leaders and the entire community in way that change has to happen.  Our kids need to be able to grow up safe, play sports, enjoy hanging out with friends on a Friday night without being in danger of losing their life.  We are calling on the community to pray with our hearts and our feet to stop the violence in Sacramento.  We are calling on our officials to re-instate the effective Ceasefire violence intervention strategy and work with the Del Paso Heights community on to develop comprehensive efforts to heal, restore and create opportunities for our youth.”
