Volunteers and donations are needed for the upcoming Meadowview Holiday Festival at the Pannell Meadowview Community Center on Saturday, December 15, presented by Correctional Workers Who Care.

For the past 18 years, the event has provided a Christmas for families in the Meadowview community. This year the group plans to provide breakfast, guest speakers, treats, and pictures with Santa for 700-800 community members.

According to Diane Shepherd, founder and CEO of Correctional Workers Who Care, volunteers are needed for set-up, clean-up, serving, crowd control, kitchen greeters, and table monitors. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7am and breakfast begins at 9am.

Shepherd says the group is also in need of donations of food, toys, coats, gloves, hats and socks. Donations can be brought to her or to the Community Center the day of the event.

Correctional Workers Who Care will also be holding a fundraiser comedy show featuring Ty Barnett on Thursday, December 13 at Laughs Unlimited in Sacramento.

For more information, contact Shepherd at 916-358-1550 (from 7am-4:30pm), 916-806-2507, or 916 647-9356.
