Everyone at some point has a dream. It can be the most simplest dream ever. I remember when I was in kindergarten my dream was to be at least a princess or a teacher. Don’t get me wrong but those are the most common dreams for a six year old. But I started to grow up and realizing that being a princess isn’t possible or even being a teacher can be hard. Elementary school passed, middle school went by as a blink of an eye, and here comes along high school.

Sophomore year I decided to join an academy called Health Medical Science. This academy involves hands on labs and talks about all sorts of medical fields. So after having this experience a light bulb popped up. Having all this talk about medical fields I decided to either be a Pediatrician or a Radiologist. I wanted to be a Pediatrician because I enjoy being around kids, I feel like I have a connection with them. Since I’m a senior in high school to this date I always wanted to attend UC Davis to pursue this dream, but sadly my GPA doesn’t qualify. My main focus of senior year was to achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher. But somehow I had a feeling that I wasn’t going to be able to achieve it. Especially to attend a four year college like UC Davis it’s tough they’re really competitive. So my plan is to attend a community college for two years then transfer out to Davis. I know attending to a four year college speaks highly of someone. The thing that I always tell myself that’s it’s never too late and to take baby steps. I’ve known a couple of people that started from a community college and to this date work in the medical field.

I want to have a professional career to make my parents proud. I’m doing this for them. I want them to see me succeed in the future. They gave all their hundred percent to me, now it’s my turn to give them that hundred percent. My dream will come true one day. No one is holding me back from what I want to be. Even though there are going to be a lot of obstacles to achieve it, that’s how life is. Your dream isn’t going to be handed over like a cup of tea. I wish it was that easy but there are struggles to go through. Never say never because everyone can achieve their dream.
