The Sacramento Public Library will be offering a number of free workshops to assist college-bound students.

Thursday, February 28, 6:30pm — Test Taking Strategies
Arden-Dimick Library, 891 Watt Ave., Sacramento
A presenter from Kaplan Test Prep will discuss the best test taking strategies for college-bound students, followed by small group workshops with tutors.

Wednesday, March 20, 6:30pm — College Admission Tips
Robbie Waters Pocket-Greenhaven Library, 7335 Gloria Dr., Sacramento
College Counselor Marilyn Van Lobens-Sels will provide tips of what colleges are looking for in their applicants and about the essays, letters, and interviews they require.

Thursday, March 21, 4pm — SAT College Essay Workshop
Elk Grove Library, 8900 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove
Students will write practice essays under time, test-like conditions. They will get advice to help them recognize what essay gradesr are looking for, as well as stratgies on writing effective essays.
