Courage Campaign and Brave New Films Teams Up With California Senate President pro Tempore in Push for Stronger Gun Laws

SACRAMENTO — On Tuesday, June 21, Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León joined by members of the California legislature and in partnership with the California-based Courage Campaign and Brave New Films will hold a community screening of Making a Killing: Guns, Greed, and the NRA, following the mass shooting at Orlando’s pulse nightclub that claimed the life of 49 members of the LGBT community.

The film, Making a Killing: Guns, Greed, and the NRA, was released by Brave New Films, a social justice documentary film non-profit, and directed by Robert Greenwald.  In the film, Greenwald provides a close examination into gun tragedies including unintentional shootings, domestic violence, suicides, mass shootings, and trafficking and tells personal stories of how gun violence affects the lives of everyday Americans.  The film also discusses how the epidemic of gun violence in the US is a profit-driving crisis.
