The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) would like your feedback on the next Mental Health Workforce Education and Training (WET) Five-Year Plan, 2014-2019, which will guide the development of public mental health workforce strategies – at state, regional and local levels – towards an integrated mental health service delivery system. This feedback will focus on the following issues:
- Engagement and employment of mental health consumers and family members in the mental health workforce;
- Engagement and employment of diverse, racial, ethnic community, and underrepresented individuals in the mental health workforce;
- Incentives to recruit and retain students to enter mental health careers;
- Education and training programs for mental health providers (expansion, curriculum);
- Reduction of stigma associated with mental illness in the workforce; and
- Regional collaboration on mental health workforce development strategies.
As such, OSHPD has released a survey to gather stakeholder feedback. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes depending on the amount of questions answered and detail provided. We are requesting specific feedback that can be incorporated into the WET Five-Year Plan. Once surveys are received, OSHPD will collect all responses and consider them while developing the WET Five-Year Plan.
The survey link will be available until Close of Business June 21, 2013 at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RW7LKWB.
