Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that the Greater Sacramento region has been cleared to exit the state’s stay-at-home order.

“We’re starting to see some stabilization both in ICUs as well as stabilization in our positivity rate. We’re also starting to see the rate of growth for hospitalizations beginning to decline,” Newsom said. “Today, effectively immediately, we’re pulling the Sacramento Region out of the stay-at-home order.”

The exit moves counties in the Greater Sacramento region back into a tiered-system, which loosens reopening restrictions based on hospitalization and transmission rates.
