Black Marriage Day will be celebrated for the ninth year on Sat-3/26. It is
celebrated annually at locally sponsored events hosted by faith-based and community groups in March. Starting with only 30 cities in 2003, hundreds of local sponsors plan to celebrate Black Marriage Day 2011 to highlight the benefits of marriage, pay tribute to successful marriages, and to promote marriage in the Black Community. The first school will open August 17, 2011, with 160 students in grades K, 1, 2 and 3, in South Sacramento.
