On August 2, new the new exhibit “Make Some Noise: Students and the Civil Rights Movement” was opened at the Newseum in Washington, DC.
The new exhibit explores the new generation of student leaders in the early 1960s who fought segregation by exercising their First Amendment rights and making their voices heard, and spotlights key figures in the student civil rights movement. This exhibit will be a permanent exhibit at the Newseum.

Additionally, the Newseum is launching a changing exhibit, “1963: Civil Rights at 50,” which chronicles milestones in the civil rights movement in 1963 using historic front pages, magazines and news images. This exhibit will be on display through 2015.
