Alfre Woodard says it’s “ridiculous” for people to “vilify” Colin Kaepernick for taking a stance against racial oppression in America.
In an interview with People Now, the seasoned actress ― who currently stars in the Netflix series, “Luke Cage” ― shared her concerns over her son’s safety and challenged more entertainers to raise their voice against police brutality.
“As a mom, when you’re actually afraid for your son to be on the streets because he might get mistaken for somebody else,” she said. “In 2016, as far as we all have come and how we live, shame on you if you don’t raise your voice and say, ‘I’m drawing attention to this.’”
